I use a loop with a cable protector on the end of the cable. If you have a cable supply handy you can buy the cable with a nicely crimped connector to avoid having to use cable clamps. I have about 6' of chain with a chain hook on one end and a clevis on the other. The clevis allows me to connect to the loop in the cable and to easily replace the chain. NEVER slip a hook of any kind around the cable to fasten to an anchor. You will at least damage the cable and at worst, break it. I suggest using a chain that has a little lower breaking strength than the cable. Easier to replace the chain. JH
