Hey guys,
Well this is kind of Power Wagon related. I have a chance to purchase a 1942 IHC M-3-4 1 1/2 ton 4x4 truck. This IHC is THE TRUCK that sparked my Power Wagon bug (this was before I knew the differences!). The truck is very complete and could be restoreable(I think).

The IHC has been sitting outdoors near a garage in the country for 20 or 30 years. (I have been looking at this particular truck my entire life.)The truck is very complete, but very rough and rusty. The IHC has a large 6 cylinder OHV engine (What size?), 4-speed transmission and divorced transfer case (Is it two speed or single speed?). All drivelines to the front and rear axles are complete(the axles make the Power Wagon axles look small) even the leather boots that cover the front steering knuckles are still there. There is a Tulsa PTO winch with straight bumpers (no damage) and all the brush guards are there.
The body is very straight, but the cab is no good. All the windows have been knocked out and the weather has taken its toll on the floor boards and cab mounts (which are totally gone). Seats are missing but all the gauges, switches, handles, and data plates for the winch and tansfer case are still intact. All of the Naval markings on the cab can still be seen through the weathered red paint. All of the original head lamps, black out lights, and tail lamp are in place. It has a side mount fuel tank.

I want some advice on if this truck should be restored. I would like some history about these trucks eg. How many were made? Used for? How long they were manufactured? Part sources, web links, etc. Pics too.

There will be pictures posted hopefully by Monday.

Thanks for the help.
