The 1/2 ton track width is about 4 inches narrower than the 3/4 ton. If you don't have it, get the TM9-1808C - Technical Manual Power Train and Interchanges: Military/Civilian Trucks 1941-1971 By John C. Zentmyer available from the part sources under front page. You will need it to know what modifications are required to the 1/2 housing components and what will interchange between the two trucks. It will help you do the coversion right and spend your money wisely.
