I, too, applaud your reasoning ability, Chris. I raised 4 kids in two of the most depressed decades in North Idaho. Now that the kids are grown and my two sons are doing all the hard work and one of my daughters is doing all of my book work, I can finally justify purchasing a new truck. I spent $35k in '77 buying 2 acres, drilling a well, and building a house. I drove stuff that I worked on constantly for years. Rebuilt everything. One time I even pulled the starter off my pickup and put it in the station wagon so we could go on a trip to visit our family in Calif. (Both Fords) ;-(
The time came when I don't want to work on the truck, I just want a comfortable ride. And lots of outside money coming in, wanting to build big homes. Enter the '03 Ram 2500 Cummins that I really enjoy. I'm happier than I should be with that truck. By the way, the truck cost me just about what the house and land cost. And the house and land now would be about $250k Keep on the course, you'll do well. JH
