A few nights ago, the dog started barking in front of the house, a pickup stopped, and the guy told me that there were horses on the road. Come to find out, there were seven Govt mules on the loose walking down the road in the dark. I babysat them, turning on my flashers and strobe light and called sheriff's dispatch. She stated that the gov't handler had been looking for them all day. When he and his crew showed up, he said that a wolf or big cat had spooked them. So they harnessed a couple and sat on the tailgate and the others obediantly followed back to the corral about 43 miles from my house. They belong to the Forest Service, who uses them to pack supplies into the back country. Tom
