Everybody is making all this "rage" about the 'New' Power Wagon. Granted, it may be a nice capable truck, BUT, in all reality, its nothing better than any 57-80 W-100 200 or 300. Its just a standard civilian truck with some options to make it off road capable, and a heavy duty price as well. Because it has the name POWER WAGON, it is causing all this hype. Granted, Any Dodge 4X4 is a good sturdy truck, BUT its not like D.C. is really bringing our beloved 46-68 WDX-WM300s back. I hate to say it, BUT it looks like Mopar is trying to use the Power Wagon name like what GM uses Z71 Off Road, or Ford uses the FX4 Off Road. I just have a hard time with new trucks...... Heck, that truck costs more than my land (almost 12 acres) I bought 3 years ago! I only paid $30,000. for the place and already the value has gone up more (I did get it cheaper than it was worth tho) In 3 years, what will that $34,000. truck be worth? About $21,000. Maybe? If you can easily afford such things, go for it. If I had the Money to buy a brand new one, and pay cash, I wouldnt! Id find a Nice old W-200 or W-300 Sweptline, Drop in a 6BTA Cummins and do a referbish on the body for between 1/2 and 1/3 of the cost of a new truck. In the end, Id have a truck that would hold up better and be easier to maintian.
I am glad to hear they gave Truck of the Year award to Power Wagon.
Sorry for the long Rant guys, I dont know what got me going.....
