Several years ago, I had just put a rebuilt 230 in my 52 B3PW I started up the lion's back...only to have the engine stall about 1/3rd the way up...then while standing on the brakes trying to get it restarted, the pedal went to the floor and I was on my way down backwards with Digger positioned at the bottom in hios W300! Needless to say, Digger backed out in time and I came screeching down the rock in the old PW, never did fall off the rock, but it was a 'hell of a ride'! The stall was due to the mechanical fuel pump not being strong enough to pull fuel from the tank at the rear of the truck up to the engine due to the extreme upward angle! So the next day (a Sunday) after replacing the threaded pipe plug that blew out of the NEW master cyl, and installing a'turbo-boost' (Electric fuel pump) I re-tried the Lion's back and made it with no problem!! This rock is intimidating, but actually there are steeper places in Moab that I frequently take my various PW on! The place is quite fun! And besides...when it is your time, you really don't have a choice anyway!
