I just got home and found my Helitool Disc brake kit sitting on the poarch. I first opened a rotor box to have a look see and something seemed different or not quite right
about it at which I opened the box with caliper mounts and bolts. So I pulled out the instruction manual and began to thumb through it looking at the pictures then the kit parts. As I came to the mounting of the rotor to the flange part thats when I noticed what seemed different. The pics showed 8 bolts per rotor but the wording called for only 4 per rotor with only 4 rotor mounting holes in the flanges. This seemed strange so I checked the website and sure enough it showed 8 bolts per rotor with the wording calling for 8 also.
Does anyone have the kit with 8 bolt rotor mounting ? Does anyone have one of each ? If so what is the difference (if any)? Does anyone know why there are only 4 bolt holes now as opposed to the 8 of earlier kits ?
Why did the engineers design it with 8 bolts instead of only 4? Do those with the 4 hole mounting feel it is as safe as the 8 bolt hubs ? Nothing against Ray ,i'd just like some feedback . Thanks,RDavis
