Yes, and me too! In fact, I go back a little farther than that, to 3 cent stamps, and penny postcards, and two mail deliveries a day. And gas was only $.19 a gallon. Why, if you had an extra 50 cents (a rare occasion), you could put two gallons of gas in your car, cruise all night, and still have enough money left over to stop in the Miss Malden Diner for coffee ($.05/cup)! Then there was going to the movies (11 cents) for a double feature, newsreel, and maybe a cartoon, if you were lucky! And you could stay at the movies all afternoon, if you wanted to. Cigarettes were $.13/pack, two for a quarter. And they'd sell them to minors! Then there were Crosleys, Kaiser/Frazer, and Nash automobiles, and of course the Dodge Power Wagons, to gawk at, and wish! Guess I'm getting old, but I still refuse to grow up! Dave Maher
