Quickest way around all this is to replace everything in the distributor. Might cost a little more money, but 1. problem is eliminated right away, 2. you'd have to replce everything in the dist eventually anyway, why not get it done and out of the way. The more time you waste on the little things, the less time you have for the important stuff.
