251 Water Pump

My newest adventure is replacing the water pump. I have the two piece pump with the housing bolting to the block and the water pump with pulley and fan blades bolting to the housing. I removed the four bolts from pump to housing, but the fan blades wont clear the radiator shroud. I removed the 3 bolts from the housing to the block, but still am unable to get the unit out as one or two pieces. Anyone know any tricks short of removing the hood and the entire radiator to change the water pump?
