I had a Ford with a 300 cu in 6 cyl. in a 4x4 pickup. The bolt that held the air cleaner on the carburetor loosened up and fell down the throat and dropped in between the intake valve, landing on the top of one of the pistons. This resulted in a cracked block, broken piston, bent rod, and a broken crank. I don't know if that was a forged or cast crank, probably cast, but it broke. JH
