I dropped a '78 440 with a (externally balanced) cast crank into a '76 Power Wagon with a 4-speed manual transmission. I used the Dodge weight kit with mounting instructions for unbalancing (by 12.9 in-oz) a torque converter to run with this engine. I applied the weights at the specified diameter and clocking to the back of my (318)flywheel. It did not work.
Does anyone know how to balance a flywheel/clutch combination for this engine without removing the crank?
