Short -shaft 727 ID

I found an older 60's 108"WB pop-top camper van today with 177hp 318 & A727 auto tranny.
Its not running at the junkyard and he'll let me have the whole thing for $200.
Trouble is, I don't know if the engine and tranny are what I need for my 2wd PW project
and cannot find the year of manufacture.
I got some numbers off the only vin. plate I could find, can anyone tell me: what year is this van so I'll know if its a poly or LA-318
and if it is a poly-318 will the A727 tranny and torque converter/flywheel work with a LA-318 ? Ser.# 2087114351
Vehicle model # A110 wheelbase 108"
engine 318 hp177 @ 4000 rpms
rear axle RF30 and thats all I have and know about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated ! RDavis
