You need to take measurements from the rear motor mounts (V8/PW frame) to the end of the extension housing. It may be a very close fit with just a universal joint required. If you're not concerned with 4x4 actions, you can remove the TC, find a centered rear housing, in fact that would be a better solution if you want a touring truck, because you will not be turn gears creating friction in the TC - better mileage. The only problem is a parking brake, but that can be substituted with a brake line lock and use of a duel master cylinder for safety reasons. You may need to consider a center bearing arrangement for the driveline a good driveline shop can help with that. If drivelines are too long they tend to twist and break with time. Use an external oil cooler or two if you're planning hard towing. Every 20 degrees reduction in oil temp results in doubling the transmission's life.
