Hello -

I am experiencing a problem with the T6.354 Perkins in my 63 W300, running out of fuel, usually when driving out on the road. It really has not given any trouble off road, slow driving.

Previously, I found very dirty fuel in the tank, removed tank and cleaned it out.

I replaced two fuel filters before the injector pump, cleaned the lift pump screen(I replaced the lift pump months ago). I added an additional fuel filter before the lift pump. Everything has seemed ok for about the past month, but that is just off roading.

The injector pump appears to have been rebuilt, and the previous owner told me it had been.

It quit on me Sunday after about a 20 mile road trip. I tried to bleed out air after the fuel filters, and was just getting bubbles and no stream, while pumping on the lift pump manually.

I did use the same cap that was on the gas tank when it was 318 powered. Could an incorrect cap be causing a problem? When I installed the engine, I routed the injector overflow line back to the rubber inlet going to the fuel tank.

Any ideas as to what the problem is, are welcome......

AAA
