The carburetor actually works as well as can be expected, even on slopes in excess of 50 DEGREES! (110%) The biggest problem I have had is the fuel pump not being able to deliver fuel, so I have installed an electric 'turbo-boost'(my nickname) fuel pump near the tank on the rigs I take to Moab, thus, when she starts cutting out, I hit the switch and fuel resumes flow. This will even overcome minor vapor-lock, the other problem though, is if you are bouncing or on rough terrain at a steep angle, the carb tends to slosh over and temporarily flood you out, I have mastered the art of 'fancy footwork' on the throttle and in most cases can keep her running! But, if there was throttle body injection then the flooding problem and angles would be eliminated!
