You need to use the other set for the V8.

At least that is the case on a D100, maybe the longer FH6 in the bigger truck uses the same holes with both engines, but I doubt it.

Chris is right about the front mounting holes, and you will need a different radiator as the input is on the opposite side on the V8 vs the 6.

You will also need a 58 or older V8 bellhousing, and some of the brackets for the pedals are different between the V8 and the 6cyl.

The books may show this, if not, or you don't have the books, I will see if I can describe it better.

You can use a 315 poly style motor (315, 241, 270, etc), A series 318, LA 318, or a LA 360 (The 360 requires a 360 balanced 318 flywheel) behind the 315 bell, but you will need to fab front mounts for anything other then a 59-60 truck A 318(or you can use any A 318 and add the correct front mount from a 59-60 truck), or a 315.

If you have a 315 that runs I would use it, but I think the A 318 with the 59-60 front mount would be a better engine choice for power, etc.

Good luck!

Eric
