Hi Geoff,

Any 318-340-360 will fit but you must use the 360 flywheel with 360 engine as one's internal balance and other is external balance.

You need to make a small change in the motor mounts, but as I recall I was able to swap the driver's side 360 motor mount around backwards to make it work, or something like that. Maybe it was the Poly mount turned around and put under the 360? You'll figure it out I'm sure.

There can be issues with the pilot hole in the flywheel depending on which trans you have, but bushings are available.

If you go with a 360 try to find a '79 360-3, as the RV motor: forged rods, maybe forged crank, double roller timing chain, factory blueprinted and balanced, premium parts and the best year for 360's.

A set of '586 heads [last 3 digits in casting number] would be nice too, but check around valve pockets 'cause Mopar smallblock heads are prone to hairline cracks at the seat.
