Howard,
I have the Mico lock and Hydrovac. I have had success with the sequence that you describe. My thinking was that the Hydrovac and Mico are the high points in the system and that's where the air will migrate to.
But then for good measure, I do it all over again in reverse order. I move alot of fluid when I bleed brakes.
