Paul,
You are making me nervous. I used the same product on my tank. I did not have the end cut out though. I had a leak in a seam that was dented. I was able to solder the leak. Then I decided to add the sealer for good measure.
After about a year I had the filler hose off and noticed part of the sealer in the filler neck was loose. I scraped the loose part out and have been using it ever since. I assumed that possibly I didn't get a good acid treatment in the neck.
It made me wish i had never sealed it since I had fixed the leak with the solder.
Let us know how you make out with the Renu. I wonder how they will get all of the old liner out?
