The M101 trailer had a spair tire mount on the front of the box. They had to add this to the trailers when they went to the Jeep M715 truck that took a different rim.
The spair tire carrier looked just like the one that is mounted in the bed of the early M37s. The only defference I could see was the toe was bent out to mount on the bed of the M37 and the toe was bent down on the M101 trailer because it mounted on the front of the box.
I had a like new M101 trailer that had just been rebuilt, it had a M37 spair tire carrier on it.
So, if you can find a M37 spair tire carrier mount it.
