Looking at a 98 Dodge Truck to buy ???Help???

OK I know it is not a Deisel but I know nothing about Dodges except PWs and M-37s! This is a extended cab 1998 3/4 ton 5.9 litre Gas Engine, Auto 4X4 full package with the little doors for the back seat. My question is; 1 is this a good engine and the year of the truck a good tranny? I can't talk my wife into a Deisel I have tried for years so I am stuck with a Gas Engine and Auto so she will go along with it. I just want one that can tow a M-37 or 4 ton of hay localy and not long hauls across the USA. Any thoughts on this set up? Thanks, Mark H.
