was not used as an accessory factory winch on any Dodges except by special order. It was a flat mounting winch that could be used behind the cab as a bed winch or. By special order it occasionally was used as a front winch on a W200/W300 instead of the standard LU-2. My 1968 W300 ex-government truck has a MU-3 as it's special order front winch. I added another MU-3 as a rear winch mounted on the lower frame rail.

Many MU-2 parts fit the MU-3 but some parts don't due to different orientation of the gear housings and the location of the dog clutch.
