Yep I still wear them when working around the house on certain projects. I wore them this weekend while taking a chain saw to my old deck on the second floor. You never know when that saw will jump.
Years ago when I was working for the Forest Service I was moving a rather large crate with my boss. Next thing I knew we lost control of it and it fell on my foot. My boss panicked. I stated that I was just fine as the steel toe was supporting the crate. He and another guy took it off my foot. It was about the second day of my first real job. Boy was I happy with the salesman that strongly suggested the steel toe (so was my boss).
Wear them!!! That is my last comment.
