Be careful, that circuit and wire size is not for large amp tools, it's there as a charging circuit for trailer batteries. It's in the plug for those who have campers who have 12V batteries for powering lights etc...

It allows the tow vehicle to charge the campers battery so when you get to your camping destination you will have maximum available power.

On my F@#D the circuit is only powered when the ignition key is in the run position, so that the camper won't drain both the batteries and leave you stranded should you leave the tow vehicle connected. It's also fused at 30amps.

Most winches are like running a starter motor, and need LARGE power supplies and wires feeding them.
