Paul you need a few manuals. They tell you all about fording water. One thing is if the water is deeper than 48 inches you need to remove the Fan Belt. You also close off the air going into the Carb from the engine block so it will pressureise the crankcase to help keep water out. You are advised to drain your diff and transmision to get all water out as soon as you can. The engine will boil out the small amount of water that may get in it. I have some manuals that go into detail about this. The Fording lever shuts off a bunch of venting lines. I have about 5 manuals and can look to see which ones cover it. I don't think I will be going under water with mine so I realy don't need so many. You can cover the postage and a Jug of that fine Maple Surup and we got a trade! I could turn you on to a original military manuel. Let me know if that sounds good to you. Mark H.
