I believe most, but all frames were painted black. I have a 1949 B1PW that was painted olive drab at the factory. Everything was olive drab - the cab, frame, transmission, transfer case... . Actually I am not sure about the engine because it had been changed.
Consider wet sanding a spot on the frame with fine sand paper and see if there is some black under it.
Also consider getting the build card. There may be some notation on it about the paint scheme.
