Here is the email that Eric was referring to that I wrote him. You posted a response today where you gave a link to pictures of an MU2 winch. http://t137.com/registry/help/mu2winch/mu2winchview.htm
Interesting, in the pictures the rear winch support seems to be mounted backward. Notice that it is held down by large washers that spans between the support and small bocks of metal. It look as if it is bolted through the second hole in the frame. You can see the actual hole that the rear support is to be bolted to just behind the where the rear support is located. I also noticed several extra holes in the cross member on the passenger side until I realized that they are the original holes for mounting the winch gear box and the detent for the declutching handle. Any idea why it was redrilled and mounted backward? Did they change the radiator position or something?

I went home and looked at my winch setup. I really can not tell from the pictures but the radiator may be moved forward in the pictures that Eric supplied. I personally would not trust the way the rear support is held to the frame by overlapping washers. The support needs to be installed correctly and bolted down. I would not be pulling very hard with the way it is mounted now. It could bend the washers and pop out on the rear support. Eric's pictures, according to him were taken at the VPW Rally.
