In fact they are all OVER the place, my spreadsheet shows no order at all for them.

I don't care what axles are in a truck, 3000lbs Dana 44, 3500lbs Dana 44, 8 lug, 5 lug, 6 lug, etc.

If the VIN tag says W100, then it is a W100.

I have run into this with TWs, some of the 1966 PW TWs came with 3500lbs Dana 44s (the same axle as the Crew Cabs), big yoke driveshafts, 3/4 ton springs to go with the winch, and a few other upgrades. Dodge still called them a 1/2 ton, W100, so that is what I consider them.

I agree they are basicly the same as a W200, but they are not W200s.

If you wanted to start playing that game, you would find that the number of trucks that have the same axles, springs, etc, etc, etc as a 3/4 ton, and yet are labeled as 1/2 tons is huge.

To prevent confusion, I stick to the VIN number, and model number.

I agree it is likely that Dodge built a couple short WB W200s, but they would have been one offs, like the 1960 W200 TW I know about. That truck is all original, and the tag says W200. It also says WB 116", when it is on a 108" chassis. The frame number matches the tag, etc, etc, etc. There is even a SERT sticker, and one of the things it mentions is W. B. I know Dodge does strange stuff, but lets not take things that do follow the books, etc, and try and make them into something they are not.

As for the casting number, as far as I could find, the -1 just refers to which sand castings were used to make it, as improvements were made to the sand castings over time.

The referance material I found shows the casting number to be that of a 60-67 Forged crank motor, look here for more info:

http://www.slantsix.org/articles/dutra-blocks/slant-blocks.htm

Are you sure that a 2463430 casting number is not right for a truck?

All the data I could find online only seems to cover cars, and right now I am not close to my books. But the casting number checks out as a 225 on the online lists.

Here is another listing for that casting number:

http://www.earlycuda.org/tech/engines.htm

And another:

http://www.autohobbydigest.com/tables.php?02_Block-Casting-Numbers

Like I said, all of this could be car info, and I am not trying to claim the engine in that truck is original, I am just checking to see what the casting number should be on a slant 6 in a 63 or 64 truck.

I am always trying to learn new tricks to ID the year of a truck!

Eric
