Take off the carb and take it to a machine shop and have them put in a helicoil. Take the fitting along so they will know what threads to use. I have had this done on PW carbs and it works well. In fact it better than the original aluminum threads since helicoils are made from stainless steel. The cost is about $10 for them to do it.
