I have a slant six in my 51 M-37. Also has the NP435 trans. Whole assembly is moved back about 6 inches (had to make a patch plate to cover the hole inside where the stick shift is) Anyway, the advantage I have found to the slant six over a V-8 is no overheating. The slant six starts everytime and I haven't been able to kill it yet!!
