I've seen a 1941 WC 1/2 ton pickup converted to a Buick 231 V-6. Power level and torque was more than the original engine, higher revs meant higher top end, similar size meant no overheating of original radiator.

Not my choice, but it worked.

That V-6 looked kinda lonely sitting there with all that space around it.

The 230 in my M37 is very tired, and I'm not sure I want to spend $2000 rebuilding it whenI can drop in a decent running 318 or 360 and automatic for a quarter of that. I'm still mulling it over. The V-8 would be far more reliable than the old 230 and all its accessories.
