So when I bought this old '42 WC-22 or other, I noticed somebody had hacked up the dash to install some little black rimmed unlit 2 1/16 inch gauges in place of the square ones. Took a couple of them out looking for date or voltage info. Can't find anything on them, not even a manufacturer name or insignia. Noticed when I was taking them out that they were mechanical and thought that was odd, somebody went through a lot of work to put gauges in this truck.
So they're sitting in my kitchen, and I'm thinking I really should clean up those filthy things. Scrubbing them with soap and water gets them nice and clean, and I notice that the black paint on the rims is peeling off. What do I find underneath? OD.
Paul, Brian, Gordon, am I to think these are indeed the original/correct gauges in a WC-22? White numerals on a black background with OD rims? Oil pressure, amps, temp, and gas (I think, 2 are still out there).
