Allison is just starting production in the Indianapolis plant on a new light transmission. It is a "LCT" model, they are currently being tested in Ford, Dodge and GM larger pickups and sport utilities, it will also be used in larger trucks, F450 size, etc. I don't know costs and I doubt that you would be able to find one in a salvage yard for a little while but could probably buy one retail. It won't be cheap.
