Glad to see you are as angry as I am. I've been doing some checking about this salvage guy and it appears that he was once a "junkyard" but the local government shut him down" because the new "upper class" that were moving into the neighborhood were complaining.
Apparently, his only choice to maintain a living was to become a recycle center and "crush" his stock. He purchased a new recycling machine that cost in excess of $700,000 and the county kicked in a few bucks.
I was initially angry at the owner but I am starting to see his side. I stopped by this weekend and spoke briefly with him again. He stated that I was not allowed in to see anything because his insurance would not cover any accidents. Knowing insurance companies, this is probably true. I took some of Dave's advice and asked him to give them to me or "turn his head". He thought about it for a few minutes and said no. He seems to be very fearful of any possible government retribution. Who could blame him?
These trucks may very well be rusted junk or they may be decent. I have no real way of knowing. He is rather elderly but very aware of what is going on around him.
I told him I was going to bug him forever until he saves these trucks. He laughed and told me that he has "marching orders" to remove all of the "junk" from his property because the new locals don't want it around.
I'm not going to give up on this.
Dave, I may be calling you soon to put some pressure on this guy.
