Sorry I don't have a service manual handy, but I do have this computer....I have a 1956 dodge 1 ton dually with a flathead six. The wires are all rotted away. the voltage regulator says 6v positive ground. the "live" wire was connected to the - side of the coil. could this truck be positive ground? which direction does the motor rotate when you crank the starter?
