Most of the WC and PWs that I have seen have a metal plate that covers a hole cut in the wood floor directly above the fuel sender. Any sender work requires the plate to be unscrewed to open a clear access to the sender. Apparently your WC 12 currently does not have this access plate. Often you can also loosen the metal bed strips and lift out a board to get access under the bed. I can pull several boards out of my PW bed with out much trouble.
