I can't answer your question directly but I can offer a possible solution. In dealing with a transmission in my '55 Pontiac that I kept tearing up(too much power) I had to have an input shaft shortened. I had broken teeth off the input shaft that I had and all I could find for a replacement was a similar but longer shaft. The clutch splines were cut far enough along the shaft so that I just had the shaft turned down to fit. It was somtheing in the neighborhood of 1" that it was shortened. The end profile had to be cut into it of course but it was no problem for a machinist at a local motorcycle shop. I think I paid $70 to have this done.
