Some guys are real helpful, some don't even reply to my E-mail.

I request all the numbers off the data tags, the engine number, and the winch numbers.

All of that data could be collected in 5-10 minutes.

I provide a description of the number locations, and then if I get a weird answer or some thing I send them a picture of the location.

Once I have the numbers most of the time I break them down for the seller, to tell them what they have.

Often then you will see an update to the auction showing the info I have shared, which should help bidders make an informed choice.

All of this data is kept in my spreadsheet, and not added to the registry, as I am hoping the new owners will add their trucks to the registry. I use the data to help me write pages for the Registry, and answer questions that come up on the forum.

I have considered writing up an E-mail to send to the high bidders telling them about this site, and the Registry, but I have not done so yet.

Eric
