Flywheel Options

This M37 flywheel weighs 35 lbs. I compared it to a 3/4-ton WC flywheel that weighs 20 lbs.

The M37 has eight bolts on the crank. The WC has 4 bolts on the crank. They appear to interchange. You just can't use all eight bolts unless you want to drill four new holes.

I would think the extra momentum of the heavier flywheel would be nice for crawling over rough ground, or even for second gear starts with 4.89s and big tires.

On the other hand, a cammed-out, dual carb flattie might prefer the lighter flywheel for a little quicker throttle response.

If anyone needs either of these flywheels, I have one of each I won't use. Both have good ring gears. The WC needs resurfacing.
