It sound's like it is from a 1.5 ton 4 x 2, however the Civilian Conservation Corps had a pile of those that actually were procured through the Department of Defence and "CCC" as well as "USA" hood numbers do appear in the military manual front sheets for that period.

Since the truck and the cab are both 1940, I would be very much inclined to MAKE the cab into a VC hard cab which would take only a handful of work, rather than go looking for another. Basically you'd have to drill one hole in the dash (for the blackout switch) swap all the windscreen winder stuff for the windscreen side-slide stuff, and fit a rear cab window screen if it hasn't already got one. That has to be easier than finding the correct cab, open or closed.
