A couple of issues with CA
- They claim 10% of the vehicles are the cause of 90% of the pollution. Go figure that one,
- Giving you $500 for your truck means that Auto manufacturers can sell an additional number of cars equivalent to the amount your truck generates. In a sense they are limited in sales to the amount of pollution their autos generate – so I’m told,
- CA still allows burning of AG waste although that is SLOWLY changing,
- Dairies galore and methane gas – they haven’t figured out something for the cows yet,
Things they don’t mention are:
- Jet planes
- Fast food restaurants with grills. Next time you drive around town look at the pollution pouring our the top of their stacks – and we got a lot of’EM
- Other industries that generate pollution
I guess it all comes down to people wanting their cake and eating it too! The San Joaquin and Salinas Valleys are big AG areas that produce a lot of food. People are moving as far south as Fresno to buy homes and are commuting to the bay area due to the expensive real estate there. Let’s face it – population continues to grow and that generates a larger amount of pollution. If it takes the community to raise a child, it take ALL industries to clean the air and that may mean giving up technology that’s been used for generations and implementing new that people actually can afford – if they are really serious about this.
