When I was rebuilding my '54 C1 (which is a project that I have been doing for the past 10 years and will never end), I WAS going to cut off the capstan when I rebuilt the winch cause I was green and new to the PW world 12 years ago and I didn't know much (like I do now?), until Jack in PHX (a GREAT PW helper who I got to know)said "Don't you dare cut off that capstan!" Well, the capstan is still on and it's something that's really an attention getter. If you need pictures, gimme' a hollar.
