Hey Norm: I figured the NP241 Came out around that era, but was not shure. From what I have seen so far, it seems to be a close swap for the NP208 I dont know. Personally, I try to stay away from Chain drive transfer cases and T-Cases with Aluminum housings etc. I've been know to break 'em. I would be interested in buying any 435-205 Combo's for Dodge applications that I can find. Lately I been on this buying spree picking up just about any Stick trans, gear to gear combos I can find, be it for Dodge, GM Phord, IH, Jeep Etc, because I can move 'em fast. THey sell almost as well as Dana 60 front axles! I just wish I could get more DODGE setups like that to have on hand. As for the driver's side drop transfer cases, like what Phord always used, and GM and DOdge have used in recent years, thats a bad, bad idea....Why? Because wires, fuel lines, and brake lines, are on the same side framerail, and I have seen quite a few cases, in Phords mostly, where something happend, and the front driveshaft popped the front U-Joint, or a stick got caught in the front drive shaft and pulled wires from the frame and then twisted them around the front driveshaft! I have a Ford setting in my little boneyard right now, that is there because of that! The Ujoint snapped, and the front shaft pulled about half the wires off the truck, and tore em up and wrapped 'em around the front driveshaft. On that darrned '92 Phord F-250 4X4 I had, I was working on the farm one day, about 3 years ago, and was in the field towing a wagon around, and a piece of something got caught in the rotation of the front drive shaft, and the truck just died right there, I tried to re-start, and then NOTHING....I looked under the hood, and there was a jungle of wires hanging around, and torn etc. A quick look under the truck and there were most of the wiring on the truck wrapped around the front shaft. Needless to say, it took a good friend and I several weeks worth of free time to fix that mess. The drivers side drop idea, is not a good idea at all, unless the vehicle MFGs start running wires and lines along the passenger side frame rail.

Now can somebody give me a quick refersher? Its been a while since I pulled a Married Dodge Transfer case.. How many bolts hold it to the adapter? What size and spline count is the Dodge trans output shaft? Just wondering.......
