No disputing the popular vote, Kennedy lost the popular vote to Nixon also. Our nation is a Republic, not a democracy. The vast amount of population is concentrated in the cities, where there are large populations of people on welfare and other government programs. The cities are absolutely a different culture than the rural parts of the nation. Look at the map again and you will see the hardworking people that make this country work, the people who feed the cities and provide the raw materials, etc. etc., they are in the red areas. The consumers and users of these goods and the tag-a-longs and something for nothing groups are in the blue areas.
