I'm on your side in all this, but I think from a common sense position, there are a few more things to do.
You know the guy's name, right? You know his last address. Is it a small town? Is there a small local newspaper who would have posted his obituary? Do a Google search onhis name. You may find an obit.
Is there a local police department or sheriff's office? Is there an American Legion or VFW post that would have known the guy? He must have had some relatives, somewhere. He must have worked somewhere.
A person can vanish, but it takes money and hard work to do so. I realize you have gone above and beyond looking for this guy, but why not spend a few more hours and dollars just to cover all bases.
Where is this place, (his last known address)anyway? apb
