That's the only way I learned that ryhme, catch a tiger by the toe. I never heard it any other way until I saw some worthless group of whinners on TV protesting the nursery ryhme.
The spade term is old cowboy slang when talking about having a good hand in poker, it has nothing to do with race. It's a term from the West. I meant nothing by it and I'm not going PC or apologizing, that would be as stupid as the expungment of the term master cylinder and slave cylinder from tech manuals. Out here in the West we never had slavery and I didn't grow up with any preconceived notion of race, I was raised that the content of a man's character is way more important than the color of his skin, any color, be it red, brown, black or white. The PC crowd must have a lot of latent guilt to worry about minutial like that, I worry about what I see when I shake a man's hand or look him in the eye. I remember standing in line at a water fountain visiting Lookout Mt. at Chatanooga TN, in 1954. It was hot and hundreds were thirsty. I saw a fountain with no one in line at it and I ran over to get a drink. I was too young to read the sign over it that said "Colored". I was greeted with a chorus of boos, hisses, and shouts as I got my drink and ran back to my mom in tears. People that worry too much about words when they are thirsty are parched souls indeed.
