Their are some differences in 57 & 58/59 nose piece sheet metal & fire wall. The fire wall on the 58/59 is different as is the doors & top of hood. The 58/59's have a curved area to mate with doors on 58/59's.
40-47 are the same with exception of chrome front end. 40 & early 1941's don't have access doors on nose piece. 40 has different hood ornament & different design of chrome pieces in the grill.
48-1952/53 not sure of this, have one piece hoods, 54-56 have 2 piece hoods. other minor changes in 48-56 models COE's also.
I've only owned 47's, so most of this information is from seeing others are from other sources.
