why "bench bleed" sometimes necessary

sometimes it works to just put MC in vehicle and bleed as usual. Sometimes air in the MC prevents this. You have to manually put your finger on the output hole and 'prime' it until air not pulled back in; only fluid pushed out under pressure. Then put in vehicle and force air out at loose, line to MC fitting. Then bleed as usual. Hope I saved you the two days I wasted to learn this.
